Florida City

Florida City is on US Route 1, south of Miami, and the last stop before crossing the Everglades at the southern tip of Florida and hitting the Keys. This area has been decimated by a number of hurricanes and the closing of Homestead Air Force Base. Rickie becomes familiar with a deserted drive-in restaurant there, but not nearly as familiar as Roxy.

Rickie passes through Florida City regularly on his way to Key Largo, where he docks his boat.
